Hot weather brings cool promotions to the Electric City’s business district through the Summer of Scranton, a project of Scranton Tomorrow!


Dozens of downtown Scranton businesses will offer special promotions and events throughout the month of July as part of Scranton Tomorrow's Summer of Scranton campaign. Our Business Development Committee created the series to encourage everyone in the community to support the locally-owned businesses that play a vital role in the region’s economy. Highlights include:

Indie Week, June 29 – July 5: Independents Weeks is a national movement celebrating independent businesses in conjunction with Independence Day.


Since 2018, Scranton Tomorrow has spearheaded Indie Week promotions in downtown Scranton. The initiative showcases the unique variety of retailers, restaurants and cultural venues in the city’s historic business district.

Lackawanna County Scrantastic Spectacular, July 3

Celebrate Independence Day a day early at the Lackawanna County Scrantastic Spectacular on Courthouse Square, beginning at 4 p.m. The event is presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network and sponsored in part by Scranton Tomorrow.

The event features food, live music and children’s activities. The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic performs at 7:30 p.m. and festivities conclude with the Zambelli Fireworks Display!
