To help boost the local economy, Scranton Tomorrow has launched its Fall Into Downtown Campaign, encouraging everyone to support small businesses this fall. Promotions run through October 31 and include:
Scranton Scarecrow Display & Scavenger Hunt, September 13 through October 31: Dozens of businesses will display scarecrows in planters and storefronts in the Downtown Business District and beyond through October 31. As a seasonal twist to this year's Scranton Scarecrow Display, organizers have added a Scavenger Hunt to the promotion, making it even more fun to shop, dine (and spot scarecrows) in the Electric City! Electric City Sips, September 15 through October 20: A project of Scranton Tomorrow in partnership with the City of Scranton, Electric City Sips is a series of Happy Hours on Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. at participating restaurants throughout Scranton. The promotion kicks off on September 15 and runs through October 20. Those age 21 and older are encouraged to gather their friends and enjoy $3 beers, $5 wine, and $7 cocktails at participating restaurants. For a list of participating restaurants, click here.
