Living Master Joel Carson Jones to paint mural in Downtown Scranton this summer

This summer, Joel Carson Jones will paint Danseur de Corde (Rope Dancer) as part of Scranton Tomorrow's Mural Arts Program. The piece is a tribute to the Vaudeville era in the City of Scranton.

About the Artist


Joel Carson Jones is an internationally-acclaimed artist known for his still life and trompe l’oeil paintings. Designated a Living Master by the International Art Renewal Center, Jones lives, teaches, and paints in northeastern Pennsylvania, where he was born.

Prior to studying abroad in Angers, France, Jones completed his graduate work at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. His vision, and his ability to render with impeccable clarity, has put him in the center of today’s growing movement — Contemporary Renaissance in the Classical atelier. His reputation, expertise, and work are sought worldwide. 


Jones's work regularly appears in numerous, distinguished publications, including: The Artist's Magazine, International Artist Magazine, and American Art Collector. It has also been featured in prestigious venues, including: The European Museum of Modern Art, The Butler Institute of American Art, The Morven Museum, The National Arts Club, The Roberson Museum, The John F. Peto Museum, and Sotheby’s: Art Renewal Canter Salon.


Jones is represented by Cavalier Galleries, Greenwich Connecticut, Nantucket, New York City, Palm Beach Florida and Meyer Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
