About the Artist
John Park is a professional muralist based in Los Angeles, California. Born in Korea and raised in Ohio, he received his training at Rhode Island School of Design where he studied figure drawing, oil painting and anatomy. Park has painted two murals in Scranton, PA, and dozens of murals in Southern California and cities across the country. To view more of his work, click here.
Meaning “Dream World” in Latin, Somnium Orbis by John Park is a reminder that Scranton is a place where dreams come true.
Featuring a diaphanous woman with flowing hair, the mural at 414 Biden Street was painted as a gift to Scranton Tomorrow's Mural Arts Program from artists John Park and Julie Hunter. The project was made possible through a partnership between Scranton Tomorrow and Lackawanna County.
