Join us for special floral events at First Friday on June 5!

Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary One Bloom at a Time!
Scranton Tomorrow will host two Scranton City Pride events at First Friday in June: an interactive floral design session and a floral competition in downtown Scranton.
Don't Miss Our How-to Session in the Park
On Friday, June 5, from 5 to 8 p.m., Scranton Tomorrow’s Safe, Clean & Green team will share tips on how to design creative containers at Christopher A. Doherty Park, Wyoming Ave. and Linden St. Supplies will be provided. All you need to bring is your imagination and a love of flowers.
Have Fun, Vote and Support Local!
While visiting downtown, be sure to explore custom floral container displays as businesses compete in Scranton Tomorrow’s Downtown Scranton Business Class Floral Competition. Now in its fourth year, the contest is a festive precursor to the Electric City Flower Show at Nay Aug Park on June 20. In keeping with a patriotic theme, displays will feature at least one red, white and blue element.
Embark on a Self-Guided Tour: Scroll down for a list of participating businesses where you'll find signs with QR codes at each display. The codes will link to our voting gallery on Facebook.
Vote Online: Voting opens at midnight on June 4 on Scranton Tomorrow’s Facebook page. Each photo ‘like’ counts as a vote! Voting closes 24 hours later.
(Please note: you are not required to take the self-guided tour prior to voting, but we hope you do - it's a lot of fun!)
Shop and Dine Local: While perusing floral displays, be sure to explore the unique shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes in the business district. For listings, visit Scranton Tomorrow’s Guide to Downtown.
Celebrate the Winners: In partnership with the Everhart Museum, Scranton Tomorrow will honor first, second and third place winners on Friday, June 19, at the Flower Power Happy Hour at the Everhart Museum in Nay Aug Park, 1901 Mulberry St., Scranton, from 5 to 8 p.m.
See the Top Designs in Person: Winning arrangements will be on display at the Electric City Flower Show at Nay Aug Park on Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday night’s events are part of Scranton City Pride, a project of Scranton Tomorrow, NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania, and United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania (UNC), and a Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful program. Since 2023, the annual spring design contest has grown into a fun, support local program celebrating creativity, collaboration and civic pride.
