the Sesquicentennial (150th) Anniversary

of the City of Scranton is approaching?


Scranton Tomorrow has organized a Planning Committee comprised of community non-profits,  for profit organizations, neighborhood associations  and members of the community. The committee is developing a year's worth of celebration activities beginning on April 25, 2015 and concluding on Charter Day, April 23, 2016.


Among the planning committee are representatives from Scranton Tomorrow, the Lackawanna County Historical Society, Unico, The Mall at Steamtown, Lackawanna County Convention & Visitors Bureau, The Times-Tribune, Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority, Scranton Area Community Foundation, Hyde Park Neighborhood Watch, St. Patrick's Day Parade, The University of Scranton, Everhart Museum, Anthracite Heritage Museum, Steamtown National Historic Site, City of Scranton and private business.
